I have aquired a set of Jegs Cat delete pipes so I might as well put them on I guess. My friend traded in his car and had them on his car w/ the stock mufflers but obviously had to put his cats back on when trading in his car so he "gave" them to me.

Do you guys think I'll feel any HP gain from these things?

I'm thinking it's gonna be pretty loud too w/ no resonators but I'm not paying a shop to weld new ones back on b/c I sold my stock ones already lol. If anybody has the gt500 w/ no resonators or cats, let me know how beastily this thing is gonna sound....

Might free up a few HP but I am wondering if the computer would adjust and negate them....? Toss them on and see, shouldn't take very long to do, and then you will know thumbsup3.gif I would offer to help, but in California at the moment for work. senile.gif

You'll need a tune after you put them on. On my supercharged car, builder (Beefcake Racing) said I'd get 35 HP after the tune. Not sure the amount on a N/A car. A lot of people have complained how loud (And some with GT 500s) their cars got, and some like it.

Maybe a few HP, mostly noise is the gain. I'm afraid of the smog police here so I wouldn't dream of running on the street with deletes. We have mobile checks.

I can't speak for horsepower numbers, but I raced one weekend without them and one weekend with them and the weather was the same. I was at 12.13 without cats, 12.23 with cats. I also had the car tune revised for running without cats.

My car is running the JBA x pipe with the cat delete pipes. With the flowmaster outlaw mufflers (still have resonators) and it is LOUD. If you like 3 ft behind it and hurts your ears loud. That being said I run the bama 93R tune and I made 405rwhp and average 19-20 mpg. I'm a believer in the cat deletes.

Yes, you'll definitely notice some big horsepower gains from the cat deletes. We've seen gains of 10-15 RWHP just from the cat deletes. You'll free up a ton of air and it will sound great. The GT500 mufflers are pretty calm compared to other mufflers so it won't be too loud. I ran Long Tubes, O/R X and GT500 Mufflers and it sounded killer. However, it just wasn't loud enough for my personal liking.

Like these guys said, you will need to get an updated tune since you won't be running cat's anymore.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
