Okay, now that I've driven my V-6 with the Flowmaster single exhaust a while, it feels like it has a little more "spunk," and the wife noticed it too....About how much of a horsepower increase would any of you guys in-the-know say it gained?
That ride is clean man nice job.well to be honest i wood say about 3 to 5 Rwhp at the most (BTW) Throw Some Rally Stripes On That Bad Boy Man.. Mine Dident Come Out That Bad lol Gotta Love That Vista-Blue.
That's a very nice gain! Some advertise 5-7% increase on HP...
Bone stock = 174 rwhp
C&L - CAI + 93 canned tune + JBA axle back = 207 rwhp
WoW, man, if I got 10rwhp outta my just installed Flowmaster Am. Thunder single exhaust on my '06 V-6 then I am more than happy! :shiny: It really feels like it's got more over stock, but just how much is kinda hard to tell....Dual exhaust has shown incredibly insignificant gains over a good single performance muffler, on the 2005+ v6 Mustangs. I've got the Flowmaster American Thunder on mine and love it. At first I went from stock to a GT take-off and then to the Flowmaster. When I switched to the GT muffler, I felt a very nice increase and a little more increase after going from the GT muffler to the Flowmaster.
A lot of places claim a lot of different numbers but 10rwhp is ballpark for a muffler upgrade on these cars. They've been dyno proven to show as high as 16rwhp increases on some cars though.![]()
Dual exhuast don't do much for the V6 it is a waste of money if you are looking for performance, it looks nice but as far as increase in HP it really does not increase it by much, go with a CAI with a tune that will give you a nice HP increase about 40HP.
Good call 7 up, torque is at the low endWhat you are feeling is torque, not HP. you won't feel HP until the top end.
There is no CAI/tune combo that's going to yield 40hp on either car.
Where can you get a GT axle back? Ebay, this forum, several sponsors to this site and so on, use the search feature above.Question?
Do you need to do a reprogram with a flowmaster or other exhaust mod?
What is the GT exhaust I see mentioned over and over - is it what it sounds like - an exhaust of a Mustang GT? Where would you get one and are they really cheaper then a flowmaster? Will extra noise be annoying? Just looking for something along the lines of a stock GT throaty sound and maybe a small HP and MPG gain. Also - are these simple bolt ons. (plan on staying with single exhaust).
Just got my stang. It's a 2006 Stampede edition and man was I impressed with the power of this base engine! I've owned two 1972 V8 mustangs and this pony is at least equal in performance.
The JLT combo from American Muscle seems to be the most pouplar one. It's the one I will be getting when I get mineFlowmaster American Thunder on the exhaust sounds good. But which CAI kit and tune do you recommend for a V6?
