OP, when did the shaking occur with yours? My 2011 GT is having the same issue at anything above 80mph.

The shaking we had that was caused by the EPAS was very distinctive and different than having an out of balance or bent wheel, tire or driveshaft. It was obviously a product of the electric assist in the rack and wiggled the steering wheel in a very distinct way.

You can see the better of the two videos we made here:
Vorshlag 2011 Mustang GT build - Vorshlag Motorsports BMW (M3, E36, E46, E92), Evo, Mustang, Project Car and Racing Events Gallery.

We tried many fixes without any relief. We waited for the Motorsport steering rack to become available again and once we got our hands on one and installed it, everything was fixed.

FWIW, we've only seen this specific issue on 2011 cars, and not yet on the very late 2011 cars. Though we've been told that some 2012-2014 cars suffer from a vibration, after looking into it, it's not the same issue we had with the EPAS.
The video you posted is the first time im seeing something like this, ever.

I was under the impression most people had a consistent shake which remained static and was not triggered by a certain steering input.
I have that EXACT same violent steering wheel shudder on my 2011 GT - only with advance trac off (which is how I drive it all the time unless its raining). It only happens between 60-80mph. I think my front lower control arms are going bad as it makes an awful clunk over bumps. Could the two be related?

What size tires do you run up front? My 2011 had this noise before I completely rebuilt the suspension and it was the sway bar end links. Now I have this shudder because of my poly bushings in the bmr adjustable a-arms.

Ford is being a ******* with the programming of the 11's and some 12's EPAS.

Regular ole 255's.

I had my LCA replaced. Clunk is gone, violent steering wheel shake remains. I might look into replacing my sway bar end links even if the dealer says its fine. How much they cost you?
Dude I've learned ford doesn't give a rats ass about you once you buy the car and its out of warranty. This 2011 is my 4th mustang, I might get a camaro when it comes time to replacing this one.

I did noticed a slight vibration before I switched the front lower control arms. I replaced the controls due to the noise going over a bump and car out of warranty. Dealer did replace front right lower control arm in 2013. Soon after the noise came back. Once the control arms were installed and before an alignment no noticeable vibration on the steering wheel. After the alignment steering and suspension felt tight and vibration, no squeak or noises when driving over bumps. My solution was replacing the control arm bushing may help others with a vibration/squeaks.
