I have search around the internet and read different opinions about the 4.10 gearing. Just curious on how much the 4.10 gearing will hurt my top end in a 06' gt manual. Such as how the car pulls after 100 mph and the top end? Thanks
$600 P&L is about average. But you can find much higher or lower. best not to skimp on gear installations though.Ha, I'd love to see my car with a supercharger in the future but I can't see it happening. It's a $$ issue. Mostly just thinking of the basics..gearing,cai,tune. Just bought my stang a couple weeks ago. 06 with a little over 11,000 miles on it, so deff looking forward to mods. From the metro Detroit area.. does anyone have a ballpark price for gear installations? Btw, thankss for the quick responses guys.
That is cool - according to gearing alone I can hit 190mph. I don't think I will bother to worry about aerodynamics or engine power - I will just tell everyone my car "can" do 190mph:hihi:
If I did 130mph for 30 miles in NJ I'd end up in the oceanfor city cruising 4.10 are fine but when you get on a long straight long being like 30 miles and you want to say go 130 and stay there for a while stock gears are better I personally don't care about 1/4 speeds I like long long races and cornering. but 3.73 would be bad.
I did recently run into a Bentley on a deserted few mile stretch of divided highway. He took off first once and I hung with him but couldn't close in because he got on boost before me (and I have no problem admitting a proven 200 mph car has more top-end than me...) the 2nd sprint I hit it first and he followed. We got off at the same exit and at the light I was gonna get out and give him a "nice car" talk, but he beat me to it and got out to ask me "what 'ya got in that thing?". He was obviously surprised that he didn't walk away from me - and told me he had just bought a '68 Mustang and wanted to make it faster.. So anyway, I told him my speedo only goes to 140 and asked him how fast we made it up to. He said he hit 170 when he was in front - 160 when I was in front. We were still accellerating both times but saw cars in the distance so slowed down - I won't pass other cars at speed like that and I was happy to see he didn't either, or I would have just let him go. I know some of you don;t think there's any time or place to do those speeds, and I respect that, but even I have my limits. So anyway - I think it's safe to say that these cars can seriously cook with a blower and no speed limiter - and maybe that calulator is actually true and close to 190 is possible.... I would love to go somewhere to do a true top speed run some day - I know people do events like this at old airports and such, but I've never seen anything close to me.There are places with long long long straights with no hills or corners and no one around but cactus and sage trees.
