I just installed my Scorpion Roller Rockers on my AFR 165's, and the rollers are not centered on some of the valves (side to side)
I know I could cut the guide plates in half and get more adjustment out of them, and tig them back together, but is it really needed? On a few of them it wont do any good, as they would rub the heads if moved to center.

Im I being to picky or is this a real concern?
As I said, a few of them wont beable to be moved without the pushrod coming into contact with the head.

Yes it is a concern because a valve could drop should the rocker go far enough to the side and have the rocker body touch the retainer and release the locks, this happened to me but I was lucky it happened while I was adjusting them, not on the highway. I'd suggest either buying new guideplates that have the rod centered in the head and allows the rocker to be in the center of the valve tip, or cut and modify as necessary to make the ones you have work. Wonder why the plates are kicking some to the side...

other guide plates wont help without grinding out some aluminum from the heads, and by some I mean alot. I dont see the retainers being at risk. I guess Im on hold for another weekend tell I can call AFR....AGAIN

Sure would LOVE some more input.

Hello,

i have the same problem with my AFR185 and comp pro magnum rockers.
I cut and weld the AFR guide plates three times with no success. So i bought
a set of isky adjustable guide plates. I installed them yesterday.
The rockers now exactly centered on the valve tip.

Did you need to cut out some of the head?
