Greetings,

My friend and I are starting to produce our own line of high flow hand built mufflers for a range of applications. We are currently working on a side exhaust kit for our S197 GTs. Yes, the exhaust pipes will dump out in front of the rear tires.

We are still in the development stage, but I wanted to see how many of you would be interested in such a kit if it were sold for about $450.00. The price is also a work in progress, I do not believe it will move very much.

I think there will indeed be an interest in it as Cervinis is the only kit to my knowledge that offers side exhaust. However, the rear bumper lacking the exhaust tips will look strange so its a deterrent from people getting side exhaust, having to spend extra for a new bumper or the look of no mufflers back there

I alway loved the 2000 Cobra R side exhaust.....something like that in chrome or black would be great. Will you offer applications for LTs also?

Yes if it comes with good looking ground effects and a cover for the rear.If your just talking about pipes and a muffler, no.

Once we get a working prototype of the GT exhaust, we will more then likely have to find a willing participant that would let us get under their 6cyl car to take measurements.

i've got a V6, looking to convert to duals with side exhaust. if youre looking for a car later on for measurements, i'd be willing to work something out with y'all

Look into Dr. Gas boomtubes. Something in that vein would be pretty sick if you ask me.

I had side exhaust in my 2000 and if you are lowered its a pain in the a$$! No speed bumps.

My car is lowered and it is a PITA at times already. I do like side exhaust, but I would perfer to pop mine through the sheet metal. I think my wife would kill me if I did though because she already complains about how loud it is. I even put cats back on it.

I will upload a video as soon as I can. The sound is pretty smooth, throaty, yet aggressive. Power wise, the car seems to have more torque. As you may have have noticed, I have wrapped the "tail pipes" in thermal exhaust wrap. This was done in order to prevent heating the fuel lines that run down the drivers side of the unibody. There is about 1.5 inches between the tail pipes and the fuel lines. There are no ground clearance issues, I have had the system on my car for the past week while driving through down town Atlanta, parking garages and speed bumps.

Is this exhaust/muffler homemade ?
Is the exhaust made of mild steel or stainless steel?
What size are the pipes out from the muffler? (ie: 2" ,2.5" ect..)

Your car doesnt look lowered so how much clearance is there at stock height?

Simple yet effective. I like your idea. Look's very low profile, and doesnt look like it would have much affect on ground clearance, maybe a little. :bigthumbsup

Everything is home made, it is our own muffler designer inside and out. The muffler and tips are made from mild cold rolled steel, and painted with a high temp paint. In and out of the muffler are 2.5 (stock size).

Yes, my car is stock height. The muffler is partially tucked into the transmission tunnel. Minimum ground clearance is 3.75in, which is at the outboard end of the exhaust pipes end near the tips. This is easily correctable by starting the ovaling of the pipe to tip connection farther inboard.

The system uses existing mounting bolts, no new holes had to be drilled and no welding done on the car. The tail pipes are attached at the center bolt that holds the plastic baffles under the car.

hey i was thinking about bying a duraflex side bumper and was wondering since you said that you exhaust tips are handcrafted if you could do a exhaust tip piece to fit?if so would be very intrestead!!!

My Dad has an S197 GT Premium with not adjustments to the ride. Are you guys still making the exaust mentioned above?

Any further progress looking for a side exhaust to go along with my boom tubes in the rear to have a quad exhaust like the boss style yet cheaper and less popular
