Hey guys I need to replace a missing screw that hold the drivers side door handle in place. The one you can access without taking the inner door panel off. Thread size & length?? thanks

most of your mustang parts venders sell door handle screws pretty cheap. If you want to source locally i believe the size is 8/32 x 5/8 long. it is not the more common 8/24 thread size. this is in the early 64-66 cars i think somewhere in 67/68 models it changed to the more common 8/24 thread

A standard #8 screw is 32 TPI. Fine thread is an 8-36. I have never seen an 8-24. Coarse thread #10 and #12's are both 24 TPI.

Your profile is blank so we don't know what car you own. But a screw for a door handle says to me it may be a '66? The door handle screw for a '66 is a #10-24 that is 1/2" long but with a countersunk-style, hex socket head. The 1/2" includes the chamfer for the countersink. The threads themselves are only 7/16" long. Its a fairly unique screw so they are relatively expensive.

If its the later style they used a Phillips head screw and I don't have one to measure but they are cheap:
