does it have an 8.8" rear end?
unless you bought it new, it must have been modified by a previous owner. lucky you!:shigrin

no i havnt had it since new so that might be. i went to pick it up from storage to bring it to a shop and have them install the L.S.D i have bought and the 3:73 gears and got stuck in snow. when trying to get out a friend had realized that both were spinning. so kinda lucky but have already bought a new one:mad:. so now im hoping its still a 7.7in so i can just swap it out neways. lol

hmmm...
stuck in snow? that might not be a good enough test. my stock diff will sometimes spin both the tires if its wet out or something like that(i know cuz the speedometer will go way up). i remember once i absolutely HAD to cross a wet field for some reason or other with bald rear 245/45/17 tires, needless to say i got horribly horribly stuck, but my point is that i was spinning both tires. try it on dry pavement and see if it is indeed a t-lock.

nonetheless, i eventually made it out of the Field O' Puddles by my own power, but after trying for almost 30 minutes, that field was quite a sight...:shigrin

im pretty sure thats Traction Control, that has nothing to do with the differential.

Im just gona have the new one installed ne way that way its new and since i have it now. lol but im glad im not the only one that had both spin when stuck. i just hope now that it is an 7.5 in and not 8.8 so i dont have to get different parts.

232-k7 good call. it was just the stock rearend i guess after spinning for a while the other tire starts to spin and the other stops. but the momentem kept both spinning.

on your rear differential cover, you should have a metal tag that says your gear ratio, the rear end size, and some other little bits of information. its bolted on by one of the diff. cover bolts near the top and should stick out a little bit.

well stock V6 mustangs DO NOT come stock with limited diff. IF you have one then it was done by the previous owner. Jack the rear end up and spin the left tire, if the right spins and vice versa then its got a tlok in it.
