Does anyone have a wiring schematic for an early model 64-65 Mustang under dash A/C unit? Specifically, I am looking for hookup of the fan switch and the thermostat switch.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks and a Merry Christmas to all.

If you need the wiring diagram within the A/C unit itself, you probably need to buy this book, which is available from most Mustang parts houses. I have one... but I am moving in a day or so and it is packed up in a box somewhere, maybe someone else can locate that info from the book for you.

not the "average Joe" but like his info

The entire underdash A/C unit has a single wire that supplies power to both the thermostat (compressor clutch) and blower. As Joe's schematic shows, that wire connects to the back of the ignition switch and has an inline fuse holder. There is not much to it. :)

Thanks guys, this is a help and a good start. Is there anything in the book that displays the hookups to the fan switch and thermostat?

Thanks Ivy66GT. That gives me some reference. I'm rewiring the entire car (only the A/C left to do) and for some reason I have drawn a mental blank when staring at the AC unit. The Painless wiring instruction book wasn't making sense until K4JOE Joe provided the diagram to confirm the basics. Your picture should help me confirm.

Probably will wait until after lunch today to work on it. It's 46 degrees in central Florida as I write this. For this 30 year Floridian, there are 3 stages of winter, 60's, 50's, and I'm outta here!!!!!!!!
