i've seen the nitto 305/45/18 is there anything else a little taller? like a 55? i am trying to keep it wide too. nothing under a 275.

Hey J why so Dam Tall ?? Is it a daily driver, or for the track ??
A 305/45/18 tire is about 1.5 inches more (taller) in diameter than stock and a 305/50/18 is a whopping 2.7 inches more. I hope you realize that You are going to lose gearing and car is going to feel like a slug...!!!:nono:

Well like others have said your really not going to know unless you go and measure some stuff. With out knowing the offset, size and width of the wheels you are running, but with there not being to many larger tire sizes than a 295 45 18 or a 305 45 18. The only taller sized tire in most brands is going to be the 265 50 18's or the 315 45 18's .

I know my 295 35 20's clear , and I could fit larger if I don't lower. They are the same size as the 295 45 18's, so you should have about the same amount of room left. Its not much, maybe .5 inchs in the inside, and they are flush on the outside.

Over all 305's are do-able and 315 can be done with the perfect rim and offset. But they better be wide, like 10.5"+. :kooky: What size tires are you running now, then you know what clearance you have left.

I know if I was looking at new tires I would only want to go 305 as 315 will be getting very close with my current rims and the width is not what is needed for a 305 or 315 size tire. a 305 is to wide also it might go on, but is not aproved by the manufacturer nor will have good tire life.

i have the same thing. its about 1" taller than stock, looks good but did cut the performance just a little. heres how much bigger a inch looks next to a stock size( 255/50-17) use a tire calculator to find out the heights on the tires. put in your stock size, then the one your looking at: a 285/60-18 is 31.5"tall. i think plstang had a 29" tire once that rubbed a little. stock is 27

What are you putting this on? A truck? If the tire is true to size, which most aren't, that is a 31.64" tire. You are going to lose acceleration off the line.

You want to know the tallest tire. Back spacing and offset are nice but more importantly you need to measure the clearance in the areas of concern (fender lip and top of the wheel well) as the rear axle moves through its range of motion.
