so ive ran into a few pix of ppl w/ their fog lights behind the grill....anybody know how they might have accomplished this? i like the fact you can still keep the fog's yet still have that stealth appearance to it.

Haha yup that's me! Surprisingly it was much easier than you might think. They essentially fit snug behind the grille and didn't require much work to stay in place. As of now, they stay in place just fine with the foglight wiring behind them.

I can imagine that your biggest issue would be aiming the foglights correctly. I rarely use mine, as mine are tinted quite dark and I like using the Roush lights anyhow.

I'm working on a way to mount them in there legitimately. I'll keep you updated with any breakthroughs! :bigthumbsup

yea, def. keep me informed Preston....i figured they would be o.k. just kinda sitt'n in there, but wasn't sure if maybe somebody had found/fabricated an actual bracket that they could be installed on.

I tried to fit the lights in the center yesterday but it looks like the horn has to be relocated for them to fit there. Don't know how to do that... :/

Maybe you can get a smaller set of lights. That might fit easier into the center.

google it. I know I've read this exact question before, I think on another forum and some one posted instruction on how to relocate the horn and mount them in the center.

but if you are looking for a real gear head style mod your out of luck. Most methods include just wedging them in or duct tape.

DG Custom Auto has the grills and mounting brackets for the fog lights. They had the brackets made and power coated a week ago and they should be ready by now. I plan to see them today also.

Sorry if this is off topic. But fog lights are really pretty useless. I remember a time when we put aircraft landing lamps in place of the 5" high beams now that gave you some light. Totally illegal of course but man you didn't want to be the guy who left his brights on coming at me.:heha:

i wouldnt say useless....they actually come in handy back in germany where im stationed. plus like i said, i just like the look of it. i did notice the horn was in the way when i first started tinkering w/ it awhile back. ill prolly end up just leaving it like it is and not use the fogs. hopefully ill be back in the States this time next year in an area i wont need them. still looks cool though hahah

I remember a time when we put aircraft landing lamps in place of the high beams.

I had those in place of the high beams on my '69 Chevelle SS396. I'd pull out of the driveway at night and hit the brights and it would light up the stop sign that was over five blocks away.
