So.......our previously owned 2011 Mustang has hood struts (which is way cool). Thing is, I was under the hood again today to mess with the front turn signal lamps (ongoing battle actually). But I noticed that the passenger side strut had crushed the windshield washer tube apparently between the strut brace on the hood and the strut itself. Last time I was under the hood, I replaced the little clamp that was around the flexible part of the tube in the hole in the hood that was meant for the push in clamp (which you can see in top pic). Maybe that was a mistake.
So.....for those of you whom have done the hood strut/hood prop delete, what did you do with the windshield washer tube or have you had similar issues?
Here is what I ended up doing with mine this evening and seems to work okay. The rigid piece of tube goes into the fender well hole when closing the hood. It rolls over the top of the strut brace attached to the engine bay. I'll be keeping an eye on it from now on, but this was the best cure I could come up with for now (and that all took about 45 minutes of trial and error with testing).
