Update... Old transmission is out, front input shaft bearing is junk which I pointed out to the first dealership. Also the case doesn't appear to have been split open which the first dealership said they did and charged 10 hours of labor for. Car will be ready at noon today

Transmission is in and the shifts feel good. Not hearing the noises that I had with the original transmission but it seems like the insulator bushing that was on top of the 2 post bracket is missing because the noise transfer is noticeably louder than ever. I may change out the solid 2 post bracket to the steeda bracket to see if that takes care of it. Any suggestions from anyone?

@my89foxbody have you fixed the noise or have you talked to Ben?
Last weekend I installed my mt-82 Stage-2 and it is the same. Shifts perfect, but it is very loud. I have a very pronounced gear whine from 1-4th gear. I also got the Steeda tri ax shifter and the spec stage 1 clutch wit alu flywheel.
I thought the Calimer Stage 2 should be quieter than OE.

My loudness went away after about 500 miles, I think it was just break in... I didn't get more than 1,200 mile on the transmission before someone ran a red light and totaled out the car. My clutch was stock and I had a Barton short throw shifter with the solid 2 piece bracket

Sorry to read here on bad luck. Not aware MT-82 was in use back to Foxbody’s. Seems nothing but trouble with those in the Bosses anyways. Mine operates flawless, are they all shifting without using clutch?

I am having a hard time believing that the Barton shifter could cause an issue. I have the Barton hybrid 3 (trans mounted) and never had any problems. Before my hybrid, I had the stock shifter with the Barton 2 post bracket, no problems with that either. A lot of dealerships are not aware of the Magnuson moss act, until you have them research it and there tune changes a bit. Good luck with your new trans.

My Barton shifter wasn't an issue, the dealership was just out to screw me and they did. Once I had the Calimer stage 2 installed it was like a dream for about 1,200 miles

Yes, have lost track here on models and years. Possibly if shifter linkage isn’t perfectly aligned with gears/shift stages not fully engaged, transmission may be grinding? Vaguely recall something with that on the Hurst shifters, Borg-Warner trannys. Oh no, the FWD Dodge Daytonas had these long rods from shifter to transaxle. Put big spring on one for rear to next forward slot shift. So example I could be in 3rd and it would jam up into 4th on it‘s own when released. Sometimes messed up of coarse.

Not to be quoted but do recall additional noise and vibration with some of the short-throw shift changes. The Ford version was done a bit differently with anti-vibration/shock bushings? Too most as I understand it‘s not big problem. That was maybe 8 years ago or so.
