As a rule I have always checked my new vehicles over before I leave the dealership and after I get it home. people make mistakes! I don't wont to be the victim of those errors.

For whatever it's worth mine hasn't ever used any oil that you could tell at all. Even brand new. Got her w/ 148 miles, checked it every now and then and always at the top line. Always. That being said, right after my first oil change at 5k I noticed a burning oil smell that scared the crap out of me!

Turns out I had a filter w/ a bad seal and it was blowing a little bit out on the hot mid pipes, creating that smell. It never showed any oil loss but you could smell it. Anyway, I got a new filter and it was all good.

I checked the oil level yesterday actually and it's still at the top hole. 9.5k miles now. I feel pretty lucky mine doesn't lose any oil but I wouldn't worry about it if I was you all. My old GTO used about a 1.5 quarts every oil change and I ran like fregin champ w/ a tune and CAI on until I sold it w/ 100k miles! :bigthumbsup

Yep, just checked it. The level seems to be right below the bottom hole. So it is definitely low. How much is that, 1 qt? I will buy a few from the store and add one and check it later to see if it will need more.
Well, I put 1 qt in and drove to work. Then let it sit for 8hrs and rechecked before I drove home. It seems the 1qt only filled it to the halfway mark between the 2 holes. So I will need to add 1 more qt.

Sucks that it only got 1600 miles on it and is 2 qts already low. I wish I would have checked it the minute i go it from the dealer, chances are it was low then. I don't beat on it at all. Hopefully as more miles are added to it, the engine will "work" itself out like others have said. But I will just have to keep a more careful eye on it.

Mine ate 3 quarts by the time I was at 2000 miles. I took it to the dealer to make them aware, they changed it to Mobil 1. I'm at 4200 now and it hasn't burned any more oil since.

After reading threads like this I checked oil at the dealership before I ever drove off the lot when I picked up my car. It was good to go.

Checked mine on Monday (3240 miles) was 1 qt low. Brought it in Tuesday for the free 3000 mile change. I can see a qt with the break in period and all that. My F150 (5.4) went through a qt and a half in the first 1000, hasn't burned a drop since (103K now).
