Cleaning up the wiring and had a couple wires on this which was on the right side of the solenoid. What is it and what’s its purpose, also do I need it?

Its the circuit breaker for the power locks and power windows. You need it if youve got those items. Its on the left side post on my solenoid. The only thing that goes on the right post is the 4ga cable to the starter, unless youve got a mini starter.

Yeah Urambo & Squekster are correct.Just as long as every cable/wire is on one post and the starter cable is by itself on the other post, youre good.Once the key is turned to the start/crank position, the red/blue wire sends 12volts to the small post to close the contacts between both large posts, which sends battery voltage to the starter cable/starter,so yeah it doesnt matter left or right. If you decide to add a mini starter in the future, wire the starter solenoid like shown in the diagram below. With the regular starter and solenoid wiring, the solenoid on the fender powers the starter. With a mini starter and solenoid wiring, the fender mounted solenoid powers the solenoid attached to the starter itself then this solenoid actually powers the starter.Thats why theyre wired differently.

Thank you very much, this helps so much. Just so I’m on the same page...I do have a mini starter that I just put in, so it has to be like the picture, correct?
Yeah wire it like shown in post 9.When wired this way,the ignition switch will trigger the fender mounted solenoid then this solenoid will trigger the starter mounted solenoid.
